Secondary School Junior Science and Math Teacher

Khalsa Secondary School is seeking candidates for one Secondary School Science and Math teacher for our Sikh faith - based school located on 10589 124 Street. Academic teachers do not have to be observers of the faith. Teachers from all diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply! We are an a IB MYP authorized World School and an AP Level 2 school. We are a growing school with a lot of opportunities! Our teachers are supported and have a prep in each semester.

We recognize North American teaching experience.

Secondary School Science and Math teacher

Start Date: January 27, 2026

• Science 8 (2 blocks)
• Science 9

Salary: Starting salary for a CoQ teacher is $6400 per month.

• Other salary benefits are available for this position
• This salary is only offered to Certificate of Qualification teachers or teachers who have a completed application with

the Teacher Certification Branch (BC) for a CoQ

• Teaching experience from within Canada is recognized for a possible higher starting

salary for CoQ teachers

• Duties:**
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods to ensure all students understand the material
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience
• Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events
• Experience:**
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• BC teaching certification
• Proven experience related subjects (preferrable)
• Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans and grading effectively
• Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues
• Ability to tailor teaching methods for diverse learning styles
• Skills:**
• Proficient in proofreading educational materials
• Classroom management expertise
• Effective communication and writing skills
• Experience in tutoring or special education is a plus
• Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently
