Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing, maintenance, and repair of transformers, including pad-mounted, dry-type, and oil-filled units.
- Conduct electrical testing such as TTR, insulation resistance, power factor, winding resistance, and related transformer diagnostics.
- Support commissioning, energization, and troubleshooting of transformer systems and associated electrical equipment with standards outlined in NFPA 70B.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults involving transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, cabling, and grounding systems.
- Prepare test reports, commissioning checklists, and deficiency logs.
- Follow NFPA 70E, OSHA, and applicable electrical safety standards at all times.
- Work with engineering and field teams to resolve equipment issues and improve system reliability.
- 3-5 years of experience in transformer testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting in industrial, utility, renewable energy, or related electrical environments.
- Knowledge of transformer systems, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
- Familiarity with transformer diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and single-line diagrams.
- Willingness to travel nationwide for field assignments.
- Valid driver’s license required.
