As an Associate, you’ll join a small, highly collaborative team and play a hands‑on role in sourcing, executing, and supporting investments in software businesses.


Key Responsibilities

Due Diligence & Investment Evaluation

  • Perform financial modeling, valuation (DCF, transaction comps, LBO models), scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing.
  • Analyze a company’s product roadmap, technology stack, competitive positioning, unit economics, sales & marketing metrics (CAC, LTV, retention), and growth levers.
  • Coordinate and manage due diligence processes: commercial diligence, technical diligence, customer reference calls, legal / regulatory review, and operational assessment.
  • Prepare investment memos, internal presentations, and deal committee materials.
  • Work closely with external advisors (bankers, consultants, attorneys) as needed.

Deal Sourcing & Origination

  • Conduct market research to identify software sub‑sectors and verticals of interest, emerging trends, and potential targets (e.g., writing macro or sector white papers, building market maps).
  • Screen and evaluate inbound investment opportunities, leveraging databases, networks, and industry events.
  • Assist with outreach to founders, executives, and intermediaries to build relationships and drive deal flow.

Portfolio Support & Value Creation

  • Partner with portfolio company leadership teams to help drive growth initiatives (e.g., go‑to‑market strategy, pricing, expansion, product enhancements, M&A).
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), prepare dashboards, and deliver periodic updates.
  • Participate in strategic planning, help prioritize initiatives, and support tactical execution as needed.
  • Assist with follow‑on investments, exit planning, and sale execution (preparing materials, supporting buyer diligence, liaising with M&A advisors).

Firm Infrastructure & Team Contribution

  • Support fundraising efforts (data room preparation, investor materials, LP updates).
  • Help maintain and enhance internal systems (deal tracking, CRM, knowledge management).


Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, growth equity, private equity, or management consulting.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative skills.
  • Solid understanding of software business models, SaaS metrics, and unit economics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex ideas and present clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • High intellectual curiosity, self‑starter mentality, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team orientation, collaborative mindset, and attention to detail.


Pluses / Nice to have

  • Experience working with software companies (product, engineering, go-to-market roles) or operating experience within a software scaling environment.
  • Familiarity with modern data tools, dashboards, or analytics (e.g. SQL, BI tools).
  • Prior exposure to M&A, contract negotiation, or change management.
  • Experience with platform / integration plays (buy-and-build strategy).
