Main duties of the job
This is a good post to gain experience in general and geriatric medicine.
Hours of work will be within the time period 8am – 7pm, Monday – Friday. The role will be in general and geriatric medicine based at Frimley Park Hospital.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
- Assess and provide care for patients that have been referred to the FPH Frailty Team
- Work as part of the ward multidisciplinary team and actively participate in MDT meetings.
- Be expected to provide teaching to nursing and/or ancillary staff and undergraduate students.
- Be expected to participate in audits and research as arranged by the team.
- Perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation where practicable with their colleagues both senior and junior.
- To attend monthly clinical governance meetings
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MBBS or equivalent
- Full registration with the GMC
- Understands the principles and practice of audit
- Further qualification e.g MRCP or DGM
- Distinctions, Scholarships, prizes
- Awareness of the basics of managing older patients, comprehensive geriatric assessment and frailty syndromes
- Evidence of competence to work without direct supervision where appropriate
- Demonstrate current ALS certification
- Previous experience of participating in teaching
- Evidence of special interest in geriatric medicine
- Evidence of involvement of significant service change associated with audit
- Previous participation in MRCP and DGM teaching
