About the Role

Join Spartan Scientific (a division of Canfield Industries) and work on real, production-ready hardware.

This role focuses on the design and development of:

  • Solenoid valves
  • Electro-pneumatic systems
  • Fluid control products used in industrial applications

You’ll take projects from concept → testing → production, working closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and internal teams.

What You’ll Work On
  • Direct-acting solenoid valves (2-way, 3-way)
  • Air-piloted and media-separated valves
  • Proportional flow control systems
  • Custom valve assemblies
What You’ll Do
  • Design parts, assemblies, and drawings (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Improve product performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation (pressure, flow, durability)
  • Partner with manufacturing on DFM/DFA and production issues
  • Troubleshoot design and field-related challenges
  • Collaborate with electrical and cross-functional teams
What You Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3–5+ years of mechanical design or manufacturing experience
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes
Nice to Have
  • Experience with valves, pneumatics, or fluid power systems
  • Exposure to FEA or simulation tools
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems
