The position offers the chance to lead technical innovation in areas such as autonomous AI agents, LLM orchestration, scalable microservices, and real-time AI-driven applications. Ideal candidates are highly technical, hands-on engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, and are passionate about delivering impactful AI solutions at scale. This remote-first role provides strong career growth potential and the opportunity to help define AI engineering standards across an evolving organization.
Accountabilities:
- Architect, develop, and deploy scalable AI-powered applications and enhancements for modern healthcare technology platforms.
- Lead the technical implementation of generative AI capabilities, including LLM integrations, autonomous agents, prompt workflows, and AI-driven user experiences.
- Design and maintain scalable microservices, event-driven systems, APIs, and distributed architectures that support production AI workloads.
- Build production-ready applications using modern TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, and cloud-native technologies.
- Establish and promote AI engineering best practices, including testing frameworks for LLM outputs, prompt management, observability, CI/CD pipelines, and AI evaluation methodologies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into intuitive and scalable technical solutions.
- Prototype and rapidly iterate on innovative AI concepts to improve user workflows, operational efficiency, and application performance.
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, and deployment processes using modern engineering and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Monitor application performance, scalability, and reliability while continuously optimizing systems for efficiency and maintainability.
- Help define long-term AI architecture standards and contribute to the growth of the AI Center of Excellence.
- Strong expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Next.js.
- Proven experience integrating large language models (LLMs), orchestrating autonomous AI agents, and building advanced prompt workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, REST/GraphQL APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven application design.
- Experience building and deploying scalable cloud-native applications using AWS services, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of databases and search technologies, including PostgreSQL, Redis, vector databases, Elasticsearch, and event-streaming systems.
- Hands-on experience with AI observability, evaluation frameworks, testing automation, and production AI system monitoring.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving, and innovation-focused environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field preferred; equivalent professional experience also considered.
- Experience with healthcare technology, EMR systems, SOAP notes, or clinical workflows is considered a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with Python, MLOps concepts, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and vector search technologies is a plus.
- Fully remote work opportunity within eligible U.S. states.
- Opportunity to join a newly established AI Center of Excellence with strong long-term growth potential.
- Direct impact on products used by thousands of healthcare providers and millions of patients annually.
- Exposure to cutting-edge AI technologies, modern cloud infrastructure, and scalable distributed systems.
- Collaborative and innovation-driven engineering culture focused on transparency and continuous improvement.
- Career advancement opportunities into senior technical leadership and architecture roles.
- Flexible and high-performance work environment encouraging experimentation and technical ownership.
- Opportunity to work on meaningful products that improve healthcare efficiency and clinician experience.
