Senior Python Developer

This role sits at the heart of a high-scale commerce and customer engagement platform powering subscription and transactional systems used by a global user base. You will work on modernizing and evolving critical backend services that handle payments, subscriptions, messaging, and event-driven communications. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and deeply product-driven, with a strong focus on reliability and performance. You will partner closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions. The work spans backend architecture, APIs, integrations, and migration from legacy systems to modern Python services. This is a high-impact role where accuracy, durability, and system reliability directly affect revenue and customer experience.

Accountabilities:

• Develop and enhance core backend features for commerce and customer engagement platforms using Python and modern frameworks
• Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs and event-driven systems supporting high-volume transactional traffic
• Contribute to the modernization of legacy systems, including migration from .NET to Python-based architectures
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear technical implementations
• Integrate third-party services such as payment and messaging platforms while managing their constraints and capabilities
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and accuracy across mission-critical revenue-generating workflows
• Build internal tools and admin capabilities to improve operational efficiency and business self-service
• Investigate, debug, and resolve production issues, including monitoring alerts and system errors
• Participate in code reviews, testing practices, and on-call rotations to maintain platform stability
• Work across multiple teams and geographies to support global platform scalability

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Python backend development, including API design and implementation using frameworks such as FastAPI
• Strong experience building scalable, high-performance systems serving large user bases
• Hands-on experience with payment infrastructure such as Stripe or similar billing systems
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, data processing, and distributed systems concepts
• Experience with containerization and CI/CD pipelines (Docker and modern deployment workflows)
• Strong debugging and production troubleshooting skills using monitoring and telemetry tools
• Ability to translate business requirements into robust, production-ready technical solutions
• Experience working in cross-functional environments with product, engineering, and business stakeholders
• Familiarity with system reliability practices, testing strategies, and production observability
• Comfortable working within US East Coast working hours
