This strategic product leadership role is focused on driving the end-to-end lifecycle management of key crop protection solutions across the Canadian agricultural market.
The Product Lead will shape and execute product strategies spanning development, commercialization, post-patent management, and portfolio optimization to maximize long-term value.
The role plays a critical part in ensuring strong brand positioning, pricing strategy, and market competitiveness for fungicides, insecticides, and plant growth regulators.
It involves close collaboration with marketing, business development, supply chain, and global product teams to deliver integrated and profitable product offerings.
The position combines strategic planning with hands-on portfolio management, including forecasting, supply planning, and product performance tracking.
This is a remote role based in Canada with collaboration across regional and global teams in a highly dynamic agricultural environment.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the development and execution of product strategies across the full lifecycle, from development to post-patent and portfolio exit
- Oversee product enhancements including active ingredients, formulations, packaging, and label improvements to maximize market impact
- Manage product portfolio profitability by optimizing revenue, pricing strategies, and cost structures
- Define and implement brand pricing strategies while ensuring consistency across markets and channels
- Collaborate with marketing communications to build strong brand positioning, awareness, and promotional strategies
- Manage third-party products and brands to ensure alignment with overall portfolio strategy
- Partner with business development teams on post-patent strategy development and execution
- Develop short- and long-term product forecasts, including sales, volume, and profit projections
- Monitor and manage product supply levels, including safety stock planning and allocation
- Contribute to global and regional product strategy discussions as part of the product leadership team
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, sales, or product management within the crop protection or agricultural industry
- Strong understanding of agricultural markets, customer needs, and industry dynamics
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management, brand strategy, and market positioning
- Experience in pricing strategy development and financial/market analysis
- Familiarity with regulatory environments and product development processes in agriculture is an asset
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with ability to work across global and regional teams
- Excellent analytical, planning, and forecasting capabilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% with a valid passport
