This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Software Development Engineer (CORE) in United States.

This role sits at the heart of a high-performance platform engineering team responsible for building and scaling the core infrastructure powering complex supply chain optimization systems. You will design and implement distributed microservices that enable high-throughput, low-latency decision-making across enterprise shipping and logistics workflows. Operating in a fully remote, cloud-native environment, you will take end-to-end ownership of systems from architecture through production. The position blends hands-on engineering, system design, and technical leadership, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and performance. You will mentor engineers, define technical standards, and help shape engineering excellence across the CORE team. This is a highly impactful role where your work directly influences platform stability, customer experience, and operational efficiency at scale.

Accountabilities:

    • Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs supporting high-throughput, low-latency supply chain and platform systems
    • Architect cloud-native solutions on AWS using containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
    • Develop and optimize data systems using relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
    • Build event-driven architectures, messaging systems, and RESTful APIs to support distributed platform integration
    • Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve coding velocity, testing, monitoring, and overall software quality
    • Establish engineering standards for coding, testing, documentation, and system reliability across the team
    • Lead code reviews and promote best practices in software design, architecture, and performance optimization
    • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline design and collaborate with DevOps teams to improve deployment velocity and stability
    • Provide technical leadership in system design, architectural decisions, and production readiness
    • Own system reliability in production, including monitoring, incident response, and root-cause resolution
    • Act as a technical escalation point for complex platform issues and cross-team engineering challenges
    • Mentor and coach engineers, supporting their technical growth and adherence to engineering best practices
    • Collaborate with product, data, and customer-facing teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions

    Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
      • 5–8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or distributed systems development
      • 3+ years of experience designing and building scalable microservices, APIs, and cloud-native platforms
      • 8+ years of Java development experience with strong object-oriented design and architecture expertise
      • Proven experience with system architecture, design patterns, scalability, and performance optimization
      • Strong experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and distributed systems design
      • Hands-on experience with both streaming and batch data processing systems
      • Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases in production environments
      • Demonstrated ability to use AI development tools (e.g., code generation, AI testing, or optimization tools) to improve engineering output
      • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team-wide engineering standards and practices
      • Strong technical communication skills with ability to document and present complex systems clearly
      • Preferred: experience in logistics, supply chain, or B2B SaaS environments

      Benefits:

        • Fully remote work environment across eligible U.S. states
        • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance (including dependent coverage support)
        • 401(k) retirement savings plan
        • Paid parental leave (up to 8 weeks)
        • Self-managed vacation policy, paid holidays, and sick leave
        • Life insurance and long-term disability coverage options
        • Volunteer time off and employee wellness programs
        • Strong engineering culture focused on ownership, mentorship, and technical excellence
        • Opportunity to work on large-scale distributed systems impacting global supply chain operations
