Data & AI Architect

A senior architecture role shaping the foundation of scalable data and AI systems on Azure within a fast-evolving, product-driven environment.
You will define how data, AI services, and applications interact across enterprise platforms to enable reliable and repeatable AI delivery.
The role sits at the intersection of data engineering, cloud architecture, and GenAI system design, influencing both strategy and implementation.
You will work closely with engineering leaders, architects, and AI/ML teams to design production-ready patterns and reference architectures.
A strong focus is placed on data governance, security, observability, and operational excellence across cloud-native systems.
This is a hands-on position where you will validate designs through prototypes and guide technical decisions that directly impact scalability and performance.

Accountabilities:

• Define and evolve the end-to-end Data & AI architecture across the organization to ensure scalability, reliability, and operational consistency.
• Design integration patterns for embedding AI services into enterprise applications, including request/response flows and service boundaries.
• Architect modern data platforms supporting batch and real-time processing using lake/lakehouse, ETL/ELT, and event-driven patterns.
• Build foundational data structures for AI/ML and GenAI use cases, including modeling, standardization, and data readiness for agents.
• Establish GenAI architecture practices including RAG pipelines, evaluation frameworks, monitoring, guardrails, and tuning strategies.
• Lead data governance practices including quality standards, lineage, metadata management, observability, and documentation.
• Define and enforce security architecture for data and AI systems including RBAC, encryption, secrets management, and audit logging.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to optimize performance, cost, and scalability of platforms.
• Create reference architectures, reusable templates, and technical decision records, while mentoring teams on best practices.

Requirements:
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or platform architecture with production AI/ML exposure.
• Strong experience with Azure data and AI services (storage, analytics, orchestration, ML/GenAI tools).
• Solid understanding of modern data architectures (lakehouse, ETL/ELT, event-driven systems).
• Experience designing and operating GenAI/ML systems including evaluation, monitoring, and guardrails.
• Strong background in data governance, security controls, and compliance in enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python with ability to validate solutions through prototypes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to align technical teams on architecture decisions.
• Exposure to OCI or multi-cloud environments and cloud certifications is a plus.
