Senior Cloud Security Engineer

In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced cloud security controls while partnering closely with engineering and infrastructure teams. You will play a critical role in protecting modern applications, containerized workloads, and cloud services through automation, threat detection, and scalable security engineering practices. You will contribute directly to cloud architecture decisions, incident response efforts, and the continuous improvement of security processes and tooling. Accountabilities:

• Design, implement, and manage security controls across multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Develop and optimize cloud-native threat detection capabilities using tools such as AWS GuardDuty, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and GCP Security Command Center.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments for cloud workloads, containerized environments, and serverless applications while driving remediation efforts with engineering teams.
• Build and maintain secure infrastructure processes, automation frameworks, and cloud security tooling using languages such as Python or Golang/Go.
• Integrate security solutions into developer workflows to improve security posture while minimizing operational friction.
• Manage and optimize Web Application Firewall (WAF) configurations and cloud workload protection platforms to strengthen application security.
• Support cloud security incident investigations, forensic analysis, root-cause reviews, and response activities when necessary.
• Collaborate with distributed global stakeholders to establish scalable security-by-design practices and improve operational efficiency.
• Contribute to governance, compliance, and regulatory alignment efforts across frameworks such as SOC2, ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA, or FedRAMP.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of IT and security experience, including at least 2 years focused on cloud security or cloud engineering within AWS and/or GCP environments.
• Deep hands-on expertise with at least two major cloud providers among AWS, Azure, and GCP, with working knowledge of the third platform.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux systems, Bash scripting, and programming languages such as Python or Golang/Go.
• Experience implementing and managing cloud IAM architectures, secrets management, PKI, encryption controls, and secure access practices.
• Hands-on expertise in container security, Kubernetes hardening, service mesh technologies, and cloud-native security operations.
• Familiarity with WAF technologies including Cloudflare or equivalent enterprise-grade solutions.
• Strong understanding of security compliance standards and regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC2, HIPAA, NIST, or FedRAMP.
• Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSK are highly valued.
• Must be a U.S. citizen residing within the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
