This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Engineer, Structural Engineering in India.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced structural engineering professional to contribute to the development and support of advanced aerospace propulsion systems in a highly technical and collaborative environment. The role focuses on structural analysis of rotating engine hardware, supporting both production and in-service operations through advanced simulation and engineering methodologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions while driving innovation and continuous improvement initiatives. The position offers exposure to complex engineering challenges, cutting-edge analytical tools, and impactful decision-making in a global engineering ecosystem. Ideal candidates are analytical problem-solvers with strong technical depth, leadership capabilities, and a passion for aerospace engineering excellence. This hybrid role is based in Bengaluru and provides the opportunity to influence critical engineering outcomes within a fast-paced industry.

Accountabilities:

    • Perform advanced finite element analysis (FEA) for stress, vibration, low-cycle fatigue, and fracture mechanics evaluations of rotating engine hardware using ANSYS and related tools.
    • Support production and field operations by conducting structural assessments related to repairs, durability, residual life evaluation, and in-service investigations.
    • Collaborate with integrated product teams to deliver engineering solutions that balance performance, cost, quality, and schedule objectives.
    • Provide technical support to maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities through detailed aftermarket structural analysis.
    • Contribute to technology advancement and process optimization initiatives while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Prepare substantiation reports and deliver clear, persuasive technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Mentor and support the technical growth of peers while effectively managing shifting priorities and project timelines.
    • Participate in engineering reviews, team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with AS9100D and operational excellence standards.

    Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with at least 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 10 years of experience.
      • Strong expertise in structural analysis of gas turbine rotating hardware within aerospace or related high-performance industries.
      • Proficiency with FEA and engineering software such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, APDL, Workbench, MATLAB, NX Teamcenter, SAP, or similar platforms.
      • Solid understanding of gas turbine hardware, engineering drawings, manufacturing methods, and mechanical system interactions.
      • Experience leading or coordinating small to medium-sized engineering teams in complex technical environments.
      • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
      • Programming or scripting experience with tools such as Python, VBA, C++, or Fortran is highly valued.
      • Prior aerospace or gas turbine industry experience is preferred, especially within rotating components and propulsion systems.

      Benefits:

        • Hybrid work model with a combination of onsite and offsite flexibility.
        • Opportunity to work on advanced aerospace technologies and high-impact engineering projects.
        • Exposure to global engineering teams and cross-functional collaboration.
        • Professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
        • Inclusive and innovation-driven work environment.
        • Competitive compensation package and long-term career growth potential.
        • Access to advanced engineering tools, technologies, and industry-leading practices.
        • Comprehensive employee support programs and corporate benefits.
