Oracle APPS & Database Administrator (Oracle /SQL)

This role sits at the core of global IT operations, ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of critical Oracle E-Business Suite and enterprise database environments. You will play a key role in supporting mission-critical systems that enable life sciences and diagnostics innovation across multiple regions. The position involves managing both Oracle and Microsoft database ecosystems in hybrid on-premise and cloud infrastructures. You will work in a highly collaborative global IT team, supporting production environments and ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance. The role combines deep technical database expertise with operational excellence in a fast-paced, regulated enterprise environment. It offers exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Azure-based solutions, making it ideal for professionals who enjoy complex, multi-platform challenges. This is a remote-based position with global impact and strong technical ownership.

Accountabilities:

Administer, maintain, and support enterprise database and application environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across Oracle E-Business Suite and SQL platforms.

• Manage Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2.x environments, including application and database tier administration.
• Perform Oracle DBA activities such as installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, cloning, and migrations.
• Handle database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes using RMAN and related tools.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance using tools such as AWR, ADDM, and SQL tuning techniques.
• Support Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL databases, including installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning.
• Support cloud-hosted Oracle environments on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and hybrid database architectures.
• Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with enterprise standards across all platforms.

Requirements:

Strong hands-on experience in Oracle database administration and enterprise application support, with additional exposure to Microsoft SQL Server and cloud-based database environments.

• 8–10+ years of experience in Oracle DBA roles, including strong exposure to Oracle E-Business Suite.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) supporting databases and ERP workloads.
• Strong experience as a SQL Server DBA supporting Microsoft database environments.
• Deep understanding of enterprise database architecture, performance tuning, and security best practices.
• Experience working in hybrid environments combining on-premises and cloud platforms (OCI, Azure).
• Oracle and/or Microsoft database certifications are a strong plus.
• Experience in production support environments with strong incident management skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with global IT teams across time zones.
