This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Inventory Accountant in the United States.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven operational environment. You will play a key role in analyzing inventory balances, cost of goods sold, and margin performance while supporting month-end close and financial reporting activities. Working closely with cross-functional teams across operations, merchandising, and logistics, you will help ensure accuracy and integrity across inventory accounting processes. The position combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with analytical problem-solving, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate variances across complex data sets. You will contribute directly to financial transparency and operational efficiency within a high-volume, dynamic business. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working independently while collaborating across global teams to improve financial processes and reporting quality.

Accountabilities:

    • Prepare month-end inventory reporting, including detailed summaries of inventory balances and cost of goods sold (COGS) activity.
    • Support the financial close process by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
    • Analyze perpetual inventory records and investigate variances in collaboration with operations and logistics teams, including third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
    • Partner with merchandising and operations teams to identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, receiving, and inventory movements.
    • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support schedules for internal and external audit requirements.
    • Conduct ad hoc financial and operational analysis to support decision-making and business performance improvement.
    • Extract and analyze data from inventory systems and general ledgers to identify key drivers of variance and reporting accuracy issues.
    • Collaborate across functions to ensure consistent understanding and control of inventory transactions and financial impacts.

    Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
      • 3+ years of experience in inventory accounting or 3–5 years of broader general accounting experience.
      • CPA certification or progress toward certification is strongly preferred.
      • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions (Index/Match), and advanced data analysis tools.
      • Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle is a plus.
      • Familiarity with SQL and business intelligence tools is an advantage.
      • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify key financial variances.
      • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
      • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
      • Self-motivated mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative in a remote team setting.

      Benefits:

        • Competitive base salary ranging from $80,000 to $120,000 annually
        • Eligibility for annual discretionary bonus
        • Participation in equity incentive program
        • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
        • 401(k) retirement savings plan
        • Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options
        • Mental health and employee assistance programs
        • Short-term and long-term disability coverage
        • Group life insurance
        • Flexible paid time off
        • Fitness reimbursement program
        • Employee discount and membership benefits
        • Inclusive and supportive work environment with remote flexibility
