In this role, you will act as a senior industry authority in commercial print technologies, supporting content teams by ensuring technical accuracy, depth, and credibility across B2B materials. You will leverage deep expertise in print production workflows, from pre-press to finishing, to evaluate and refine technical content for clarity and authenticity. The position focuses on translating highly technical printing concepts into clear, business-relevant insights for industry audiences. You will play a key role in validating terminology, correcting inaccuracies, and elevating content quality across a range of digital assets. Working remotely and flexibly, you will contribute on a project basis, collaborating with writers and editors to ensure factual precision. This is a unique opportunity to apply decades of industry knowledge in a consulting-style role that directly impacts content quality at scale.
Accountabilities
- Review and validate technical content for accuracy within the commercial print industry, ensuring all information reflects real-world production practices.
- Identify unclear, misleading, or overly marketing-driven language and provide precise, actionable corrections.
- Advise on end-to-end print production concepts including pre-press, press operations, color management, substrates, and finishing processes.
- Translate complex technical printing knowledge into accessible, business-oriented explanations for B2B audiences.
- Collaborate with writers and editors to enhance clarity, credibility, and instructional value of published content.
- Ensure consistency and correctness in industry terminology such as DPI, throughput, CMYK+, and press performance metrics.
- Support content quality assurance by maintaining a high standard of technical integrity across projects.
- 5–10+ years of professional experience in commercial printing, graphic arts, print production, or related manufacturing environments.
- Deep expertise in commercial print technologies including digital presses, offset, flexography, and wide-format systems.
- Strong understanding of full print workflows including pre-press, production, color management, and post-press finishing.
- Proven ability to evaluate and improve B2B technical content or communicate complex print concepts clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide structured, constructive feedback.
- High attention to detail and strong editorial judgment for technical accuracy and clarity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communications, Print Media, Journalism, Marketing, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
- Familiarity with industry certifications such as G7, Fiery, or editing-related credentials is a plus.
