This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced investment professional passionate about portfolio strategy, market research, and wealth management innovation. In this role, you will lead the investment research function responsible for shaping and optimizing discretionary portfolio management strategies across multiple client profiles and risk tolerances. You will oversee manager research, portfolio construction, due diligence, and market analysis while partnering closely with internal advisory and portfolio management teams. The position offers the chance to influence investment decision-making at a strategic level while mentoring a team of analysts in a collaborative, high-performance environment. Ideal candidates combine strong analytical expertise with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of investment markets and portfolio management principles. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity available in Greenville, South Carolina or Orlando, Florida.

Accountabilities:

    • Lead and oversee the investment research and portfolio construction function, ensuring alignment with long-term investment objectives and client needs.
    • Supervise and mentor a team of research analysts, guiding investment analysis, manager evaluations, and portfolio recommendations.
    • Conduct and oversee outside investment manager searches, ongoing due diligence, and performance monitoring activities.
    • Develop, test, and optimize model portfolios and target asset allocation strategies across varying risk and return profiles.
    • Present investment research findings and strategic recommendations to internal leadership and advisory committees.
    • Communicate market trends, economic developments, and portfolio insights to portfolio managers, wealth advisors, and clients.
    • Maintain and update approved investment manager lists, performance reports, and investment fact sheets.
    • Support compliance initiatives and participate in all required regulatory and internal training programs.

    Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
      • Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment management, portfolio analysis, or investment research.
      • Strong understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, manager selection, and investment due diligence.
      • Experience communicating investment recommendations and market insights to internal teams and external stakeholders.
      • CFA designation or active CFA candidacy preferred.
      • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
      • Strong written and verbal communication abilities with confidence presenting investment strategies and market commentary.
      • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop research professionals.
      • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
      • Must be able to successfully pass criminal background and credit checks.
