As Application Owner (m/f/d), you are responsible for the management and further development of our internal cost calculation tool. The role ensures that the application operates efficiently, meets current requirements, and is aligned with Voith’s estimating processes. In this interface function, you coordinate the standardization of processes across departments, ensure data integrity, and support users through training and troubleshooting.
- Your Tasks Tool Ownership & IT Compliance: Lead the internal management of cost calculation tools, ensuring seamless software support, maintenance, and 100% compliance with global IT standards. Manage end-to-end user access, workflows, and security protocols.
- Process Standardization: Translate existing estimation processes into digital tool structures and reporting frameworks. Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and collaborate with Estimating, Procurement, IT, and Finance to establish a unified process foundation.
- Master Data Management: Serve as the central POC for cost models and reference data. Build and maintain structured libraries for equipment, materials, and labor rates by leveraging ERP data (e.g., SAP), supplier quotes, and historical project metrics.
- Variance & Cost Analysis: Perform deep-dive material and manufacturing cost analyses to validate calculations.
- User Enablement & Training: Lead digital and classroom training sessions for internal teams on daily workflows and report generation. Support system admins with configuration training and develop e-learning content for self-paced learning.
- Independent Development: Take full responsibility for testing and software delivery. Manage internal enhancements independently to reduce third-party vendor dependency while maintaining high-quality delivery standards.
- Global Stakeholder Management: Act as a bridge between data management, engineering, and manufacturing departments. Provide expert support to international subsidiaries on complex cost-related inquiries within a GCC environment.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, IT, or Business Administration. A Master’s degree or PG in Project Management is a plus.
- Technical Expertise: 5–8 years of experience in cost estimation, project controls, or quantity surveying. Strong proficiency in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and project cost management tools (preferably InEight).
- Analytical Skills: Expert knowledge of data modelling, reporting (Power BI/Tableau), and process standardization. Advanced MS Excel skills (VBA/Macros) are highly desirable.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional and global initiatives.
- Intercultural Competence: Experience working with international teams and a strong command of written and spoken English.
