Data Scientist (Shared Services / Analytics COE)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to design, build and deploy advanced analytics and machine learning solutions that drive operational efficiency, risk reduction, and business performance across Shared Services functions. This role blends hands-on technical delivery, stakeholder consulting, and analytics leadership, ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world business problems at scale.

Responsibilities

Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning

• Design and develop predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive analytics models (e.g. forecasting, anomaly detection, churn, fraud/risk scoring)
• Apply ML techniques (regression, classification, clustering, NLP, time-series, etc.) to real business use cases
• Translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders

Business Partnering (SSC Context)

• Partner with Finance, HR, Operations, Compliance, and Digital teams to identify high-impact analytics opportunities
• Support Shared Services KPIs such as:
• Forecast accuracy
• Process productivity
• Attrition prediction
• Workload optimisation
• SLA & quality performance

Data Engineering & Pipeline Support

• Define data pipelines, feature engineering, and data quality standards
• Ensure models are production-ready and scalable
• Support deployment and monitoring of models in production environments

Governance

• Establish analytics best practices, documentation, and model governance
• Contribute to building Analytics COE capability and roadmap

Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in:

• Python / R
• SQL
• ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch – at least one)

Experience with:

• Data visualisation tools (Power BI / Tableau)
• Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP) is an advantage
• Big data tools (Databricks, Spark) is a plus

Business & Soft Skills

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to translate data into business language
• Structured problem-solver with strong storytelling skills
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced SSC environments with regional stakeholders

Experience

• 7–8 years of experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or Machine Learning
• Proven experience delivering end-to-end analytics solutions (problem framing → modelling → stakeholder adoption)
• Experience working in Shared Services, BPO, Financial Services, Consulting, Tech, or large MNC environments is highly advantageous

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related field
