Responsibilities
- Develops and sustains enterprise-wide safety standards, driving organizational transformation, supporting a system-wide culture of safety.
- Establishes and implements policies and procedures for all assigned departmental operations.
- Informs administration of departmental activities, needs and problems. Manages activities related to all aspects of hospital safety and security. Provides protection to hospital property and assets. Investigates incidents and reports unusual conditions or activities.
- Identifies inconsistencies among plans and proposes corrective measures.
- Coordinates policies and procedures for safety and security programs with risk prevention and other hospital departments. Ensures that policies and procedures provide for identification, timely reporting and resolutions of hazards which affect patient care, safety of buildings, grounds, employees and the public.
- Oversees the organization's external landscaping, grounds maintenance and parking programs.
- Responsible for the contract management of valet services across the organization. Ensures services provided by the valet contractor are in accordance with the executed contract.
- Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization’s overall mission.
- Maintains responsibility for department’s operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Manages team members, which includes orientation, development and evaluation of team members, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates team member’s performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
- Maintains responsibility for the fiscal management of department and assures proper utilization of organization’s financial resources.
- Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.
- Master's Degree Business, Health Care Administration, Related field, Security Management Required or
- Six (6) years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required
- 7 years Experience with safety management, emergency management or emergency preparedness Required and
- 7 years Experience managing vendor and contractual relationships Required and
- 4 years Leadership experience in a health care or hospital setting Required
