We’re seeking a DevOps Engineer who is a hands-on technology professional comfortable working in a multi-cloud, primarily AWS environment. In this role, you will build, deploy, and operate applications and cloud infrastructure on AWS, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, reliability, and security. You’ll partner closely with engineering, product, security, and operations teams to support the platform that powers Certegy’s business-critical systems.
This role is on-site only in our Florida or Texas office locations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and maintain new versions of applications and event-driven services in AWS.
- Develop and maintain automated infrastructure-as-code and deployment pipelines.
- Define and implement governance policies and procedures for running workloads in AWS.
- Design reusable components and patterns for provisioning cloud resources in alignment with governance and security standards.
- Collaborate with operations teams to align established standards and procedures with DevOps techniques and best practices.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews.
- Drive scope, planning, and estimation discussions; track progress and provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.
- Partner with engineering, security, and product teams to improve availability, scalability, performance, and efficiency.
- Build tools and automation to eliminate repetitive tasks, reduce downtime, and improve operational consistency.
- Set up and manage AWS environments, including components such as load balancers, compute, and managed databases.
- Write and maintain Terraform code to provision infrastructure and implement secure cloud solutions within AWS.
- Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with team members to drive resolution, minimizing customer impact.
- Drive process improvements and automation enhancements to continuously improve environments.
- Create infrastructure recommendations with cost/benefit analyses.
- Produce and maintain project infrastructure documentation, including runbooks and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor environment health and system performance; contribute to incident response and post-incident improvements.
- Experience automating software deployments and operating within a continuous delivery model.
- Experience developing and supporting CI/CD using tools such as Jenkins (or equivalent).
- Experience designing, building, and supporting highly available production systems in AWS using services such as ELB/ALB, EC2, ECS, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, S3, IAM, Route 53, and DynamoDB.
- Experience with source control and branching strategies (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitFlow).
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, EFS, RDS, and Route 53.
- Experience developing and provisioning infrastructure as code using Terraform; familiarity with tools such as Ansible and Packer is a plus.
- Proficiency with monitoring/observability and log aggregation tools (e.g., New Relic, CloudWatch, Datadog, Sumo Logic, ELK).
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve time-sensitive, critical production issues.
- Experience operating common middleware and web stacks (e.g., Apache, NGINX, Tomcat, JBoss).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols (e.g., DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP, TCP/IP).
- Experience with containerized workloads and AWS container services such as ECS; familiarity with other orchestration platforms is a plus.
- Experience writing and maintaining configuration in YAML and/or JSON.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with cross-functional global and remote teams.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience building and supporting large-scale, business-critical systems across the software delivery lifecycle (build, test, release, operate).
