Position Summary
The Mid-Level Operations Integrator provides direct operational, technical, and field support. This role supports integration, testing, and advancement of Navy Unmanned Systems (USVs, UUVs, UAS).
This position is hands-on, field-oriented, and critical to accelerating UxS capability development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Test Event & Operational Support:
- Support planning, coordination, and execution of UxS field tests and demonstrations.
- Provide real-time troubleshooting during at-sea test events.
- Integrate with multi-tenant Government/Contractor teams.
- Document performance, issues, and lessons learned.
- Systems Integration:
- Assist with integration of sensors, autonomy stacks, payloads, and communication systems.
- Conduct installation, testing, and validation of system components.
- Review interface diagrams and system documentation.
- Data, Networks & Communications:
- Support setup and troubleshooting of UxS communications architectures.
- Ensure proper data collection, transmission, and formatting.
- Validate connectivity and information flow between systems.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare test logs, integration notes, and field reports.
- Provide written and in-person briefs.
- Assist in developing SOPs, CONOPS, and test documentation.
- Active SECRET clearance required.
- 3–7 years of experience in UxS operations or systems integration.
- Hands-on troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, software, and networking domains.
- Experience supporting at-sea or field-based operations.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
- Strong technical writing and briefing skills.
- Ability to work independently and in fast-paced teams.
- Experience with Navy unmanned systems, NIWC, PMS-420, ONR.
- Experience with Linux, networking tools, mission-planning software, or autonomy frameworks.
- Background in systems engineering or maritime C5I systems.
- Ability to perform root-cause analysis.
- Multi-domain UxS (USV/UUV/UAS) experience.
- Primarily on-site at Little Creek Naval Base.
- Flexible hours allowed but majority on-site presence required.
- Field events may involve extended hours, on-water operations, and expeditionary conditions.
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs during equipment staging.
- Ability to embark vessels for at-sea operations.
- Ability to work outdoors in maritime environments.
- Test logs, field reports, and integration documentation.
- Weekly activity summaries and risk assessments.
- Configuration updates and technical integration notes.
- Little Creek Naval Base, Virginia Beach, VA
- Active SECRET clearance required.
- CONUS/OCONUS travel required (10–25% depending on test cycle)
