Role Overview
This is a full-time seasonal position.
This is a 49er Union Position. As a Ready-Mix driver, you will operate a ready-mix truck to load, transport and unload ready mixed concrete at various locations while practicing proper traffic, site and delivery safety procedures. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members and provide excellent customer service and be knowledgeable about material properties.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)
- Perform daily truck inspections and report needed repairs.
- Daily maintenance of equipment.
- Drives truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement and water and starts mixer adjusting ready mix to proper slump, rinsing down, loading area, and cleaning off material spilled on outside of drum
- Drives truck equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites:
- Drives truck to location for unloading, attaches chutes then unloads concrete
- Cleans truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck, using water hose and hoe.
- Drives trucks including ready mix, septic, block and aggregate materials.
- Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment.
- Clean and maintain truck.
- Ensure proper loading and adjusting of ready mix to proper slump.
- Add value-added supplies, such as re-rod, chloride or sealers, etc as needed.
- Ensure DOT, MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A CDL Class B license or higher with two years truck driving experience.
- Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure, medical card, and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
