Member Duties : Service duties will consist of a variety of trail maintenance tasks and public contact: Maintain a trail using a variety of tools such as crosscut saws, hand saws, grubbing tools (pick mattocks, mcleods, pulaskis, etc.), drills, and hammers. This includes brushing trail corridors, tread maintenance, and at times building new trails or reroutes. Maintain trail structures including bridges, water bars, turnpikes, and other erosion control trail features. There may be opportunities to build new trail structures. Professionally represent the Forest Service by contacting visitors about safety, Forest and State regulations, and provide information about the local area to visitors through education and engagement Collect wilderness campsite inventory information and visitor use data and information. Close and restore illegal social trails and campsites; collect any trash left behind. Monitor outfitter and guide camps.
