Investment Manager

The Opportunity

An established renewable energy developer is seeking an Investment Manager to support the continued growth of its German platform. The role will sit at the intersection of investment, strategy, project development and commercial execution, helping drive the deployment of capital across utility-scale renewable and energy storage projects.

This individual will work closely with senior leadership on acquisitions, project financing, commercial analysis and portfolio growth initiatives across the German and wider European market.

Key Responsibilities

Investment & Transaction Execution

• Lead financial analysis and valuation of renewable energy and storage opportunities across Germany.
• Support acquisitions, joint ventures, structured investments and project sales processes.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models for solar, wind and BESS assets.
• Coordinate due diligence processes across technical, legal, tax, insurance and commercial workstreams.
• Assist in negotiating transaction documentation alongside external advisors.

Commercial & Strategic Analysis

• Conduct market analysis across German power markets, route-to-market strategies, PPAs and ancillary services.
• Evaluate project economics, revenue assumptions and optimisation strategies.
• Support investment committee materials and internal approvals.
• Monitor market trends, regulation and competitive landscape within the German energy transition sector.

Portfolio & Development Support

• Work closely with development, origination and asset management teams to optimise project value.
• Support financing and refinancing activities with banks, infrastructure funds and institutional investors.
• Assist with strategic partnerships and capital raising discussions.
• Track project performance and support portfolio-level reporting.

Stakeholder Management

• Engage with lenders, advisors, utilities, investors and counterparties across active transactions.
• Build relationships with infrastructure investors, IPPs, developers and strategic partners across Europe.
• Present investment opportunities and commercial recommendations to senior leadership.

Candidate Profile

Experience

• 4–8 years of experience within infrastructure investment, renewable energy, project finance, M&A, corporate development or investment banking.
• Strong exposure to renewable energy transactions, ideally across solar, storage or wind.
• Experience within an IPP, developer, infrastructure fund, advisory boutique or energy-focused investment bank preferred.

Technical Skills

• Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
• Strong understanding of project finance structures and energy market dynamics.
• Familiarity with PPAs, merchant exposure, revenue modelling and energy regulation in Germany.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess risk and value creation opportunities.
