The role will drive disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation by identifying high-impact opportunities, leading complex transaction processes, and ensuring seamless post-close integration. In addition, the role will develop and execute strategic partnerships (e.g., co-investments, fuel supply agreements, franchise structures) that expand the company’s footprint and enhance returns.
Responsibilities
- M&A Strategy & Origination
- Develop and execute the global M&A strategy aligned with corporate priorities and growth objectives
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize acquisition, divestiture, and investment opportunities across markets
- Establish relationships with industry participants
- Lead market mapping, competitive landscape analysis, and strategic fit assessments
- Deal Execution (End-to-End Ownership)
- Lead all phases of transaction execution, including structuring, negotiation, diligence, and closing
- Coordinate internal and external workstreams across legal, tax, finance, operations, HR, and IT
- Drive transaction timelines, ensuring disciplined execution under tight deadlines
- Lead negotiation of key commercial terms
- Manage confidentiality agreements, diligence processes, and act as the central point of coordination across all stakeholders
- Valuation & Financial Analysis
- Own and coordinate all valuation activities, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing
- Develop robust investment cases and ensure alignment between deal assumptions
- Partner with FP&A and Accounting to validate financial inputs and outputs
- Executive & Board-Level Materials
- Prepare and present investment memos, Board materials, and executive updates
- Clearly articulate strategic rationale, valuation, risks, and expected returns
- Lead internal governance processes
- Support Board discussions, investor communications, and key stakeholder engagements
- Financing & Capital Structuring
- Evaluate optimal capital structures (debt, equity, hybrid instruments) for each transaction
- Coordinate with lenders, banks, and rating agencies as required, in partnership with Treasury
- Assess impact of transactions on leverage, liquidity, and financial covenants
- External Advisor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with investment banks, financial advisors, legal counsel, and other third-party providers
- Coordinate both buy-side and sell-side advisors across transactions
- Ensure quality, consistency, and cost discipline across all external workstreams
- Act as primary interface between the company and external counterparties
- Post-Close Integration & Value Creation
- Serve as the de facto business leader for acquired entities during the integration period
- Develop and execute detailed integration plans across all functional areas
- Establish Day 1 readiness plans and lead Day 1 execution
- Drive delivery of synergy targets (cost savings, revenue growth, margin expansion)
- Align operating models, systems, and processes with corporate standards
- Implement governance structures, KPIs, and reporting frameworks for the acquired business
- Lead organizational design, talent retention, and cultural integration efforts
- Identify and resolve integration risks and issues in real time
- Transition the business to steady-state leadership upon completion of integration
- Strategic Partnerships & New Business Models
- Develop and execute strategic partnerships to drive growth beyond traditional M&A
- Structure and negotiate co-investment opportunities
- Evaluate and execute franchise or licensing models where appropriate
- Explore new formats, channels, and business models to enhance market position
- Build long-term partnerships with key industry players to unlock incremental value
- Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and lead a high-performing M&A and Partnerships team
- Establish best-in-class processes, tools, and governance frameworks
- Foster a culture of accountability, analytical rigor, and commercial mindset
- Develop internal capabilities across valuation, deal execution, and integration
- Executive Leadership Team (CEO, CFO, functional leaders)
- FP&A, Treasury, Accounting, Legal, and Strategy teams
- Business unit and regional leaders
- External advisors (investment banks, legal counsel, consultants)
- Industry partners, investors, and counterparties
Preferred Education: MBA or other advanced degree in Finance or Business
Minimum Experience
- 12+ years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development
- Demonstrated track record of leading complex transactions end-to-end
- Experience in multi-site retail, fuel, or adjacent industries
- Experience in both transaction execution and post-merger integration
- Experience supporting executive leadership and Board-level decision-making
- Experience operating in a multinational environment

Hours & Conditions
- Hybrid Working Arrangement (Remote) to be reviewed
- Standard office environment with flexibility as needed
- Extended hours may be required during active deal processes
- Typically, Monday – Friday, 8+ hour days in office setting
