We are seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist with over 10 years of expertise in procurement and supplier management. The role involves overseeing sourcing strategies, placing purchase orders, negotiating contracts, and establishing long-term agreements with both direct and indirect suppliers. This position requires advanced negotiation skills, analytical ability, productivity, and strategic thinking to drive cost optimization while maintaining strong supplier relationships. The candidate must also be prepared to travel outside Kuala Lumpur to meet suppliers and site teams.
As a Sourcing Specialist you will be responsible for:
- Placing and following -up on Purchase Orders (PO) and manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution.
- Setting contractual agreements with direct and indirect suppliers to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
- Leading negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, service levels, and long-term value.
- Sending RFQs to potential suppliers, evaluate quotations, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability.
- Working with manpower contractors and establish long-term contracts to ensure workforce availability and compliance.
- Developing sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals and market trends.
- Monitoring supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Conducting market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate industry developments.
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure procurement supports operational and strategic needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Desired) or experience in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
- Have minimum of 10 years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Have proven expertise in contract management and T&C’s negotiations with suppliers.
- Have excellent analytical skills with a track record of improving productivity in procurement processes.
- Have strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Be ready to travel to meet suppliers and site teams outside Kuala Lumpur
- Be advanced proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools.
- Have deep knowledge of compliance standards, trade regulations, and risk management practices.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to build trusting relationships with customers and suppliers
