This position may be filled as a Regional Material Representative I, II, or Senior based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.


Job Summary/Purpose

The Regional Material Rep - Transmission (RMR) reports to the Supervisor, Warehouse Operations for transmission. This position is a key internal and external stakeholder interface and champions efficiency, accuracy, and cost management of warehouse activities including storing, receiving, cycle counting, scheduling, picking and shipping of transmission materials from the distribution center. The role will engage in supply chain and logistics functions including, but not limited to, demand planning, inventory control, compliance activities, and logistics. The RMR drives integrated processes among internal functions such as design engineering, construction, design basis, transmission operations, purchasing, logistics and outside suppliers and focuses their efforts on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various stages of the supply chain processes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safety/Human Performance: Actively promote strong safety behaviors, utilizing key tools such as Close Call /Good Catch in addition to proactive field visits to review standards and behaviors. Influence suppliers and team members to proactively identify any safety concerns and mitigation efforts.
  • Warehouse, Inventory & Warehousing Initiative: Support the execution of multi-year WIL strategic roadmap to world class including optimization of the capital required for inventory, establishing clear service levels that incorporate an acceptable risk profile, liaising with customers to obtain feedback on performance, ensuring key processes, systems and interfaces are effective and as efficient as possible across the WIL cycle, establish clarity and expectations at the customer interfaces on the front and back end of the WIL process supporting the T&D business functions.
  • Operations: Assist in the editing and scheduling of Transmission jobs, communicate material concerns to customers and partner on solutions, provide key customer interface for Transmission customers, design basis, engineers, EAs and OCs, partner with other SCM groups on material solutions, provide support for cycle counting processes, local logistics management, process adherence and quality control and perform required Enterprise Risk Management Audits at Distribution Center.
  • Logistics Management: Support the optimization of inbound and outbound logistics, planning optimal economic order quantities, logistics scheduling, etc. supporting the Transmission business functions.
  • Customer Service: Efficiently and effectively resolve customer complaints. Provide guidance to the transmission operations team in the development and execution of continuous improvement initiatives to achieve year over year direct, indirect cost improvements. Deliver and document savings through inventory optimization, continuous improvement initiatives, material transfer opportunities, service level commitments, cost avoidance, etc.
  • Incident Response: Perform storm role duties as assigned as part of the Supply Chain IR Section.
  • Partnership: Accountable for establishing and maintaining healthy and positive stakeholder relationships. This activity includes establishing cross-functional and cross-sector teams with key stakeholders and helping to develop multi-year demand plans with integrated supply chain solutions. Maintain open communications between suppliers, stakeholders and within SC to ensure that prompt, thorough, accurate, pertinent and complete information is provided.
  • Culture: At all times the Regional Material Rep shall operate with the highest ethical standards and in full compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Accountable through supply base partners to execute Entergy’s Supplier Diversity & Local Spend objectives and ensure all requirements for safety, savings, diversity, document retention, cycle counting and other areas of compliance.


Minimum Requirements

Minimum education and experience required of the position

  • Regional Material Representative I: 0-3 years’ experience in of material handling, warehousing, inventory, and/or logistics, material planning, purchasing, or other related supply chain experience
  • Regional Material Representative II: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or other related discipline OR in lieu of a degree, 4+ years of material handling, warehousing, inventory, and/or logistics, material planning, purchasing, or other related supply chain experience
  • Regional Material Representative Sr: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or other related discipline and minimum 5+ years of combined material purchasing, supplier contracting, vendor management, or other related supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum 7+ years of material purchasing, material handling, warehousing, inventory and/or logistics, material planning, or other related supply chain experience

  • Good computer skills with a general knowledge of Entergy's Asset Suite, Command and MS Toolkit applications

  • Ability to communicate directly with customers on materials management matters
  • Good understanding of materials processes including shipping, receiving, picking and inventory control
  • Demonstrate sound, fact-based decision-making ability
  • Working knowledge of Distribution/Transmission information systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects and deliver on schedule
  • Basic application of analytical skills and tools to make fact-based decisions; aware of data sources
  • Capable of clear and concise communications, written and oral, with all stakeholders
  • Ability to resolve conflicts without damaging relationships
  • Ability to build relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.
