Senior System Administrator

We’re seeking a Senior System Administrator to own and evolve a hybrid infrastructure environment (on‑prem plus Azure). This is a hands‑on senior role with a clear runway into a Team Lead position as the environment and team continue to mature. This person will take ownership of day‑to‑day infrastructure stability while driving improvement initiatives focused on simplification, consolidation, and bringing systems in‑house.

Day-to-Day

Own and support the full infrastructure stack across systems, virtualization, storage, backup, and core networking/security.

Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, GPOs, DNS/DHCP, and identity services.

Support Hyper‑V and/or VMware platforms, including performance troubleshooting and capacity planning.

Manage storage and data protection using NetApp and Veeam.

Support endpoint management for Windows 11 and Apple device workflows via Apple Business Manager.

Provide hands‑on support for networking and security components, including:

• Cisco switches
• Palo Alto firewalls
• SD‑WAN
• VPNs and Azure VPN tunnels

Support and improve a hybrid environment (on‑prem plus Azure) with a focus on reliability and standardization.

Participate in initiatives to consolidate tools, simplify architecture, and reduce technical sprawl.

Help plan and execute efforts to move or bring infrastructure in‑house.

Mentor junior team members and contribute to stronger operational practices.

Follow disciplined change management practices, emphasizing stability and risk awareness.

Environment:

• 100 servers
• 50–70 TB of data
• Hybrid infrastructure (on‑prem with some Azure)

Required Skills and Experience

5–10+ years of progressive experience in systems or infrastructure administration.

Strong hands‑on experience with:

• Windows Server & Active Directory
• Hyper‑V and/or VMware
• NetApp
• Veeam
• Windows 11 management
• Apple Business Manager

Working knowledge of core networking/security technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, SD‑WAN, VPNs).

Comfortable operating as a generalist across infrastructure and networking domains.
