The Director of Marketing, Sterigenics, reporting to the SVP of Sales & Marketing, is responsible for leading the company’s strategic marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth, strengthen brand positioning, and enhance customer engagement across target markets. This role develops and executes integrated marketing strategies aligned with commercial priorities and business objectives within a highly regulated environment.
The Director serves as a strategic partner to Sales and business leadership, leveraging market intelligence, customer insights, and digital strategies to support lead generation, pipeline growth, customer retention, and market expansion. The successful candidate will be a strategic, results-oriented marketing leader with experience in global healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, or other complex regulated industries.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated global marketing strategies that support revenue growth, customer engagement, and brand awareness.
- Lead digital marketing initiatives, including website strategy, SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, marketing automation, and online customer engagement.
- Partner with Sales and Commercial teams to develop and execute lead generation, pipeline development, and customer retention strategies.
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns, product/service launches, customer communications, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Lead execution at trade shows, conferences, customer events, seminars, and industry associations to strengthen market presence and customer relationships.
- Conduct market research, competitive intelligence, customer analysis, Voice of the Customer (VoC), and TAM/SAM assessments to identify trends and growth opportunities.
- Develop value-proposition messaging and content that supports brand differentiation and commercial objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Commercial Excellence, and executive leadership to align marketing initiatives with business priorities.
- Partner with Communications partners to support brand positioning and external communications.
- Utilize CRM systems, marketing analytics, and performance metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness, customer engagement, and return on investment.
- Manage marketing budgets, external vendors, and agency relationships to maximize marketing effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and marketing best practices across the organization.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on marketing strategy, customer engagement, and market trends.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Communications, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within a global healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, or other regulated industries.
- Strong experience in digital marketing, campaign management, lead generation, customer engagement, and market analytics.
- Proven ability to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive measurable business results and commercial growth.
- Experience utilizing CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, and analytics to support marketing effectiveness.
- Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders within a matrixed organization.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and executive relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
