Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies tailored to defense and military aviation markets.
- Align procurement activities with corporate objectives and long-term growth targets in government contracting.
- Lead the preparation, negotiation, and execution of competitive proposals for government and defense clients (US State Department, Homeland Security, DoD, NATO, foreign military sales, etc.).
- Oversee the administration of awarded contracts in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable frameworks.
- Monitor contract performance metrics, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality benchmarks are met or exceeded.
- Resolve contractual issues, manage risk, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to procurement, ethics, and government contracting.
- Serve as the internal authority on defense acquisition standards, including ITAR, CMMC, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Act as the key liaison with military agencies, primes, and subcontractors.
- Cultivate strong relationships with government procurement officers, defense customers, and industry partners to advance business development efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in defense procurement, government contracting, or aerospace/aviation industries.
- Proven success in securing and managing large-scale military contracts.
- In depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and defense procurement lifecycle.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proven relationships with DoD contracting officers or military acquisition offices.
- Eligibility for U.S. Government security clearance preferred.
- Experience with major defense programs.
- Familiarity with federal procurement portals.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including engineering, finance, legal, and operations.
- Travel required.
