Staff Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support a broad range of financial operations within a fast-paced business environment. This role will be responsible for handling tax-related activities, expense reporting, customer credit reviews, month-end accounting support, and assistance with day-to-day accounts payable processes. The position also partners with senior finance leadership on special projects and provides cross-functional support across several accounting areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit state tax filings and coordinate tax-related projects with an external accounting partner
• Review, process, and approve employee expense reports
• Conduct credit reference checks for prospective customers
• Support month-end close activities, including bank reconciliations and budget preparation/analysis
• Prepare and finalize required statutory reporting related to the company fleet
• Assist with weekly accounts payable payment processing in collaboration with the AP team
• Cross-train in, and provide backup support for, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and receiving functions
• Assist finance leadership with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to both accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles, processes, and controls
• Proficiency with accounting and business software, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as Datacor
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
