Triton Metal Products is currently seeking a dependable and experienced Local CDL Driver to join our team. As a Local CDL Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods
within a designated local area while maintaining excellent customer service.
Role
The Class A CDL Driver will apply job knowledge, skills, and techniques to ensure the transportation of the product meets the expectations of TMP and the customer. CDL drivers
will perform their duties in a manner in a way that is representative of the Triton Way by being positive role mole for the team members.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive a tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver products and materials.
- Required to package products in preparation for delivery and to load and unload trucks.
- Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order per FMCSA standards.
- Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, addressing any concerns or issues that arise during deliveries.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from the loading crew, and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Secure cargo for transport, using straps, blocks, chains, binders, or covers.
- Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Maintain cleanliness of all equipment and dock area.
- Inspect the load before and after delivery to ensure there is no damage that occurred during transportation.
- Ensure parts are wrapped and banded securely to prevent damage during shipping
- Label parts with the correct labels
- Make sure the paperwork matches the labels
- Required to package products in preparation for delivery and to load and unload trucks.
