We’re looking for a Head of Technology to build and lead the technology strategy and engineering organization, with a strong focus on delivering secure, scalable, and compliant solutions in a Business-to-Government environment.You’ll work closely with engineering, product, business, and leadership to design, implement, and continuously improve technology capabilities that ensure operational resilience, innovation, and measurable business outcomes as the organization scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technology strategy, including the multi-year roadmap (build/buy/partner), aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements, and steered by a clear KPI framework.
- Own the technology budget and drive efficiency across build and run through FinOps, TCO management, and unit economics.
- Set and govern the target architecture (cloud-native, event-driven, microservices, zero-trust), ensuring scalability, interoperability, and resilience.
- Drive innovation through structured pilots and AI-augmented development (code assistance, test generation, defect prediction), embedding AI into the technology and product approach with appropriate governance.
- Establish and scale engineering standards, organisational frameworks, and quality benchmarks across DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, and observability practices.
- Ensure security and compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001, PSD2) through secure-by-design principles, third-party risk management, and strong incident response capabilities.
- Act as a senior technical counterpart for strategic clients, shaping joint roadmaps and translating technology into measurable business impact.
- Manage vendor and partner relationships, ensuring strategic alignment and commercial accountability.
- Serve as the key interface between technology and other departments, including Product Management, ensuring alignment between business requirements and delivery.
- Build and lead a high-performing, cross-border technology organisation with clear structures, role clarity, and an inclusive engineering culture.
- Drive consequence management and attract senior technology talent to ensure long-term organisational capability.
- Align technology, product, and business through structured planning, prioritisation, and leadership-level communication.
- Solid experience in technology leadership roles, including leading multi-disciplinary teams at scale.
- Proven ownership of enterprise technology strategy, ideally within financial or security technology environments; Business-to-Government experience is a plus.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, multi-year digital or software projects.
- Deep knowledge of modern architectures (APIs, microservices, event-driven), cloud-native operations, DevSecOps/SRE, and the impact of AI on technology organisations.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to influence at board and regulatory level.
- Ability to build high-trust, high-performance, and inclusive engineering cultures.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience; background in development or architecture is preferred.
- Experience scaling organisations in growth or M&A contexts.
- Experience managing technology portfolios, vendors, and partners at scale.
- Strong understanding of aligning technology investments with business KPIs and outcomes.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-heavy environments.
- Experience working in Business-to-Government environments.
- Experience in highly secure or regulated industries.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
