Senior/Principal Full Stack Engineer
Hampton North is partnering with a Series A, AI company building autonomous investigation agents for fraud, risk, and compliance. Fresh off a $26M raise, they're scaling fast and the engineering team is tiny, meaning massive ownership and direct founder access from day one.
Compensation: $200,000 - $300,000 base + Meaningful Equity
Location: San Francisco (Onsite)
What you'll be doing:
- Own product features and systems end-to-end, from architecture and implementation through to launch and iteration
- Lead technical decisions across the full stack, balancing speed, quality, maintainability, and scale
- Build AI-powered interfaces and decision systems operating in real time with high precision
- Work directly with the founders on frontier problems in fraud, abuse, and risk
- Scale the product into new industries and workflows through rapid pilots, live demos, and fast feedback loops
- Improve engineering velocity by shaping internal tools, patterns, and standards
- Help define the technical foundation of the company as it grows
What you'll need:
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong opinions about product quality, system design, and code quality, you care about craftsmanship
- Comfort driving projects end-to-end, from backend architecture to polished UI to production
- Strong fundamentals across the stack: React/Next.js, TypeScript, Node, MySQL, and ClickHouse
- Experience building reliable systems at scale and debugging issues in production
- Ability to make pragmatic technical tradeoffs in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- A collaborative approach, working closely with product, design, and leadership to turn fuzzy problems into shipped systems
- A track record of raising the bar through technical leadership and high standards
