The Role:
MNK Group is seeking a high‑performing Associate to join the Group Strategy & Corporate Development function. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy & Development Officer, the successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the Group’s global growth strategy.
This position offers significant exposure to live M&A transactions, new business line development, strategic planning, and the assessment of insurtech partnerships and investments. The role provides direct interaction with senior leadership, including preparation of Board‑level materials, and the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of a rapidly expanding specialty insurance platform.
Key Responsibilities
M&A Execution & Corporate Development
- Support the full M&A lifecycle, including origination, screening, valuation, due diligence, and transaction completion.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models, including comparables and scenario analysis, to assess deal economics, accretion/dilution, and synergy potential.
- Prepare investment papers, valuation materials, and presentations for senior management and the Board.
- Contribute to post‑merger integration planning, synergy tracking, and performance monitoring.
Strategy & Business Line Expansion
- Conduct market, competitor, and profitability analysis to support the development and scaling of new specialty insurance and reinsurance business lines.
- Work with senior business leaders to shape growth strategies across products, geographies, and distribution channels.
- Build commercially robust business cases and financial forecasts for strategic initiatives.
- Support Group‑level strategic planning, KPI frameworks, and performance dashboards.
Technology & Insurtech Strategy
- Evaluate AI, insurtech, and digital platforms across distribution, data, pricing, underwriting, and operational automation.
- Undertake commercial, strategic, and financial assessments of potential technology partnerships or acquisitions.
- Support the design and implementation of technology‑enabled operating models across broking and placement workflows.
- Assist with pilot programmes, implementation planning, and ROI measurement.
Executive & Board Support
- Produce high‑quality materials for Executive Committee and Board meetings, including strategic updates and investment proposals.
- Coordinate multiple workstreams across finance, operations, broking, and underwriting.
- Conduct targeted research on market, regulatory, and macroeconomic trends affecting the specialty insurance and reinsurance sector.
Experience & Qualifications
We typically seek candidates with 2–5 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas:
- FIG corporate finance or investment banking
- Transaction Services / Financial Due Diligence
- Strategy consulting or corporate development
- Candidates should demonstrate strong financial analysis, valuation capability, and strategic problem‑solving skills. Experience within insurance or broader financial services is strongly preferred; Lloyd’s or specialty insurance experience is advantageous but not essential.
- A Master’s degree or MBA (or equivalent) is preferred. Entrepreneurial experience or evidence of personal investing is viewed positively.
