Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Steel Sales Representative located in Stoney Creek, ON. We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused individual with service center sales experience to grow and manage a portfolio of customers across key industrial markets. This role is ideal for someone who understands steel service center dynamics, spot and contract pricing, and enjoys developing long-term customer partnerships while expanding market share.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of service center customers across manufacturing, construction, and fabrication markets
- Develop new business opportunities for processed and non-processed steel products
- Prepare and manage spot quotes, contract pricing, and margin targets
- Work closely with internal teams (operations, production, logistics, finance) to ensure accurate order fulfillment and on-time delivery
- Coordinate customer requirements related to slitting, cut-to-length, blanking, and other value-added services
- Monitor steel market conditions, pricing trends, and competitor activity
- Achieve or exceed sales and margin targets while maintaining strong customer relationships
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and pipeline activity
Qualifications & Experience
- College diploma or university degree required
- Minimum 3–5 years of steel service center sales experience
- Demonstrated sales experience in carbon flat-rolled products, carbon plate, tubing, and value-added processed parts
- Strong understanding of service center processing capabilities and applications
- Proven ability to manage both spot and contract business
- Strong negotiation, communication, and customer relationship skills
- Self-motivated with excellent time-management and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the territory
