Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of New Business, the Business Development Manager will execute and deliver on the sales plan and targets in line with company objectives in respect of winning new corporate customers requiring contract hire, fleet management and rental business.


This is a ‘new business’ role so the successful candidate must have a passion for sales, prospecting, lead generation and networking. This role is suited to people who are ‘sales hungry’ and self-motivated to achieve challenging but rewarding monthly business targets. The role will be Dublin based, targeting the corporate sector. Candidates will be expected to build their pipeline by actively targeting prospects via cold calling, targeted emails and appointment setting. Candidates will also be expected to build their profile amongst prospects by attending networking and industry events. We are looking for someone to be a strong team player who can exploit their exceptional sales skills and power of persuasion for successful results.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take initiative in generating new business opportunities, building a network through a variety of means such as; phone calls, email, social media and event attendance
  • Develop a short, medium- and long-term pipeline of realistic and credible prospects and develop a business development plan for conquest
  • Keep an up to date status on the pipeline and be in a position to report at all times with aid of CRM tool
  • Consultative selling where your responsibilities will include actively and successfully managing the sales process including: building a rapport with the prospective client, understanding their business requirements and potential, presenting best solutions and negotiations of same, complete a credit appraisal, closing deal and completing contracts,
  • Complete handover to client relations team,
  • Consider future customer follow e.g. if unsuccessful this time, assess customer satisfaction, possible introduction to other customers.
  • Ability to assess the creditworthiness of opportunities and submit complete credit proposals
  • Possess drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring all sales and revenue opportunities for Drivalia are captured and explored
  • Adhere to agreed sales procedures, including maintaining our CRM system and keeping all sales administration accurate and up to date
  • Work effectively with other departments when handing over new clients, ensuring they are fully briefed with all relevant information
  • Keep abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, product knowledge and market intelligence, to support adding value to prospects and customers


Key Requirements:

  • Passion for sales, targeted orientated with a strong ability to generate your own pipeline
  • Empathic and attentive to prospects needs and requirements
  • Self-motivated, energetic and resilient
  • Proven ability to deliver under-pressure to deadlines and monthly targets
  • Organised, structured and have persistent drive to achieve goals
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an ability to adapt your style to suit the situation
  • Strong IT literacy to include social selling techniques via various platforms
  • Experience in proposal / tender writing
  • Full Clean Driving license
