A Physiotherapist (Grade II) is a licensed healthcare professional who assesses, diagnoses, and treats physical impairments, injuries, or disabilities through movement-based therapies and rehabilitation. He/She contributes confidently to clinical operations and supports junior colleagues.


Clinical Duties

  1. Independently manage diverse caseloads, including post-operative, neurological or musculoskeletal cases in both inpatient and outpatient
  2. Adapt care plans with sound clinical judgement
  3. Participate in service development and departmental initiatives
  4. Provide guidance and support to entry-level therapists or students or therapy assistants
  5. Demonstrates teamwork with providing efficient cross-coverage
  6. Implement and document the following:
  • initial assessment
  • reassessments every 6 monthly for maintenance and 3 monthly for active rehabilitation
  • Individualised rehabilitation goals
  • weekly review rehab plan
  • treatment updates
  • discharge planning
  1. Demonstrates independent case-management and discussion

  1. Strong clinical decision making and patient engagement skills
  2. Able to tailor interventions to different populations
  3. Demonstrates interprofessional collaboration and initiative
  4. Participates in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and peer teaching activities
  5. Independent in drafting incident report
  6. Assist in collecting/maintaining statistical information needed for regular reports


Leadership and Business competencies

  1. Provides informal mentorship to therapy assistants and PT I Staff
  2. Recommends improvements to therapy programs and services


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Master/Bachelor in Physiotherapy, recognized by the Singapore Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC).
  • Registered with AHPC and holding valid practicing certificate from AHPC.
  • BCLS-AED Certificate
  • Relevant Post Graduate qualification is desirable
  • 3-6 years’ experience relevant experience in hospital or nursing home setting
  • Relevant community and aged care experience would be desirable.
  • Microsoft office full suite, internet savvy
  • Ability to think critically, and be innovative in creating/ modifying intervention techniques to suit the individual needs of clients.
  • Able to work independently
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good team player.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Awareness of current professional, healthcare, and ageing issues and keep abreast with up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs.
