Job Summary: We are seeking a driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineer-to-Order team. You will be joining a team of skilled engineers to create new custom-order heavy material handling equipment. You will collaborate with your team members to develop novel solutions to challenging engineering problems and see your designs come to life!
Key Responsibilities
- Projects: Planning, development, and execution of engineering projects from concept through to production. Ensure projects meet technical specifications, timelines, and budget.
- Design and Innovation: Design of new products and the refinement of existing ones. Encourage innovation and ensure that design practices adhere to the highest industry standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Manufacturing and Sales, to ensure product designs are feasible and align with customer and market needs.
- Customer management/Supplier Development: Work directly with the end customer to ensure alignment of engineering scope and engage your supply base to find the best components to meet your design constraints.
- Continuous Improvement: Focus on continuous improvement practices to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and streamline design processes.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation and track product changes and challenges to advise project performance metrics and future opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design & Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering role.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering design principles.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of materials, fabrication processes, and engineering standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make educated decisions based on incomplete data
