The Opportunity
Kinara Group are partnering exclusively with a market-leading spinal implant company to identify an exceptional Vice President of Product Management. This is a pivotal leadership role for an organisation at an exciting inflection point — combining a strong commercial base with an ambitious innovation pipeline spanning next-generation fixation systems, biologics, and enabling surgical technologies.
The incoming VP will own the full product lifecycle across a high-value spinal portfolio, working at the intersection of clinical strategy, R&D, and commercial execution. This is a rare opportunity to shape the direction of a category that genuinely changes patients' lives.
What you'll lead
- Define and execute the global product strategy across the full spinal implant portfolio — cervical, thoracolumbar, MIS, and adjacent categories
- Partner with R&D, Regulatory, Clinical Affairs, and Commercial teams to drive product development from concept through launch
- Lead, mentor and scale a high-performing product management organisation across multiple business units
- Champion the voice of the surgeon and patient; synthesise clinical insights into differentiated product roadmaps
- Own product accountability — manage lifecycle decisions including NPI prioritisation, portfolio rationalisation, and sunset planning
- Engage directly with key opinion leaders, spine surgeons, and clinical advisory boards to validate direction and build advocacy
- Support M&A and licensing evaluations, providing product diligence and strategic fit assessment
Your background
- 10+ years in product management within the medical device industry, with significant spine, orthopaedic, or surgical implant experience strongly preferred
- Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional programmes from concept through commercialisation in a regulated environment
- Prior P&L or business leadership experience; comfortable owning commercial outcomes
- Strong clinical acumen - able to engage credibly with spine surgeons and navigate OR environments
- Experience managing and growing product management teams; a genuine leader
