Infrastructure Associate – Munich
EQT is seeking an outstanding Analyst or Associate to join our Infrastructure team in Munich. The Role
As an Infrastructure Associate, you will be an integral part of the team across the full investment lifecycle — from originating and evaluating opportunities to executing transactions and supporting portfolio companies through value creation. You will partner closely with senior team members and Partners on investments spanning sectors such as energy transition, digital infrastructure, transport and utilities, gaining broad exposure to EQT's global platform while contributing directly to our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough due diligence and financial analysis on infrastructure investment opportunities across target sectors.
- Build, maintain and stress-test financial models to assess asset performance, investment returns and deal structuring.
- Prepare high-quality investment committee materials to support internal decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal teams, management teams and external advisors throughout transaction execution.
- Monitor portfolio companies and contribute to strategic initiatives and value creation plans.
- Lead and support thematic research and proactive sourcing across key infrastructure sub-sectors.
- Engage with industry experts and management teams to evaluate market dynamics and business models.
About You
You are a curious, driven and collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You combine sharp analytical skills with a strategic mindset and a genuine passion for investing in businesses that matter.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Ideally 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, infrastructure or private equity investing, management consulting, or a related field.
- Fluency in German and English is required for this role.
- Degree in finance, economics, engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Relevant transaction experience - (does not have to be in EQT Infrastructure focus sectors)
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity, a passion for investing, and a genuine interest in infrastructure as an asset class.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
- A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for team success.
