Indexed description

This is a rare opportunity to work in a Family Office with successful serial entrepreneurs who have founded and scaled several businesses. You will work directly with the Managing Partners.

You will lead the Family Office's investment activities in energy infrastructure. As Head of Energy Investments, you will initiate and execute direct investments in the sector — owning deal flow, research, diligence, and investment preparation end-to-end. You will operate like an Investment Manager at a top-tier infrastructure fund, but with deeper operational ownership: we expect you to understand every investment in detail, run diligence yourself, and prepare the investment case so the Managing Partners can make the final investment decision with confidence.

Tasks

What You’ll Own

Deal Sourcing & Origination

  • Build and maintain proprietary deal flow in energy infrastructure

  • Coordinate research and market mapping to identify high-conviction investment themes

  • Manage active outreach and relationship-building with sponsors, developers, and co-investors

  • Maintain a structured pipeline with clear qualification criteria and next steps

Due Diligence & Investment Execution

  • Own end-to-end due diligence: commercial, technical, financial, legal, regulatory

  • Build and own business and financial models for each opportunity

  • Coordinate external stakeholders — banks, lawyers, technical advisors, tax advisors — with precision and pace

  • Lead deal structuring and negotiation workstreams in close alignment with the Managing Partners

Investment Committee Preparation

  • Prepare investment papers that hold up under Managing Partner scrutiny: clear thesis, risk-return profile, downside cases, key sensitivities

  • Translate complex diligence findings into crisp, decision-ready memos

  • Own the quality bar: Managing Partners should be able to make the Final Investment Decision based on your work

Portfolio & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the Family Office's front-line representative toward external investment stakeholders

  • Maintain high-trust relationships with sponsors, co-investors, and service providers

  • Provide the Managing Partners with high-signal reporting: risks, trade-offs, decisions needed, and recommended actions

  • Monitor portfolio performance post-close and flag issues early

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For (A* Profile)

Required

  • Fluent German (native) and fluent English

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from a top university, ideally in STEM, finance, or economics

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience as an Investment Manager with deal structuring responsibility in energy infrastructure (infrastructure fund, direct investor, M&A advisory, or comparable)

  • Demonstrated track record of exceptional achievement

  • Exceptional agency and sense of urgency

  • Fast learner: you thrive outside your comfort zone, switching contexts, and working with limited guidance

  • Proven track record driving cross-functional delivery in settings with:

  • Multiple external stakeholders

  • Energy investment stakeholders (banks, lawyers, technical and tax advisors, sponsors)

  • High schedule pressure and real accountability

  • Executive presence: you can credibly represent the Family Office, lead meetings, and move counterparties to action

  • Exceptionally structured: you naturally run tight processes, crisp follow-ups, and clean documentation

  • Willing to travel throughout Germany and internationally

Preferred (Strong Plus)

  • Existing network with sponsors, developers, and co-investors in the European energy infrastructure ecosystem

  • Hands-on experience building complex financial models for infrastructure assets

The Bar (How We Evaluate Excellence)

A* candidates in this role are known for:

  • Turning complex diligence into clear, defensible investment theses

  • Separating signal from noise — identifying the 2–3 issues that actually drive the deal

  • Running investment processes that end with decisions and next steps, not open loops

  • Owning the numbers: models that reflect reality, sensitivities that stress the thesis

  • Protecting capital: rigorous on risk-return, disciplined on pricing, unafraid to kill deals

Success Metrics (What “Great” Looks Like)

  • Deal Flow Quality: Quality and relevance of opportunities brought to the Investment Committee

  • Investment Paper Quality: Managing Partners can make a Final Investment Decision confidently based on your work

  • IRR: The overarching performance KPI — realized returns on executed investments

  • Risk-Return Discipline: Every opportunity is assessed with a clear-eyed view on downside, sensitivities, and capital protection

Benefits

Why This Role Is Different

  • You will lead energy infrastructure investing for a principal investor with permanent capital

  • You will operate with real mandate and responsibility — owning deals end-to-end, not as a passenger

  • You will build a career-defining track record with high standards, high trust, and direct Managing Partner exposure

Location & Start

  • Work in a Hybrid setting - based in Munich

  • Starting in July 2026

Compensation & Engagement Model

  • Cash compensation incl. competitive performance-based bonus

  • Direct reporting line to the Managing Partners
