The ideal candidate will provide leadership support through detail orientation, strong communication, and exceptional organization skills to support the mills and meet the business goals of the client.
The Basics
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Automation, Metallurgical and Materials or similar field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a progressive leadership role
- Background in steel mill processes and products, knowledge of cold rolling and hot dip galvanizing process and technology, such as annealing, coating, strip transport and control, steel properties and applications
- Demonstrated knowledge of steel rolling properties and applications
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively work cross-functionally with various groups
- Ability to develop and deliver technical presentations at senior management level
- Intermediate to proficient in MS Office products
- Working knowledge of SAP applications
- Experience leading and/or managing teams within manufacturing industry preferred
- Experience with automotive exposed and AHSS (Advanced High Strength Steel) production; process, product requirements, and technology
- Teamwork and hands-on approach.
- Demonstrated understanding of control systems, instrumentation, process models (Process Management fundament), etc.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and implement improvement initiatives that increase business value
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively make decisions using analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally, build partnerships, and seek “win-win” solutions to meet business objectives
- Align asset performance with short- and long-term business objectives by driving excellence across safety, process efficiency, innovation, and people development
- Develop and maintain an effective technical leadership team responsible for process technology and development
- Lead the Process Technology engineers
- Provide technical support for all production units including but not limited to:
- Process and product development for production lines
- Troubleshooting technology and quality problems
- Training team members
- Lead major improvement projects, improving process and product capabilities, throughput, cost (yield), energy and environmental performance, and coordination of technology activities between support areas
- Responsible for regular reporting of process performance to senior management and technology watch
- Fulfill the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment and Environmental Commitment
