We are seeking a highly driven and commercially minded Vice President of Executive Search to lead and scale our retained search practice. This individual will serve as both a player-coach and strategic leader, responsible for executing high-level searches while driving business development, client relationships, and overall practice growth. Please note we are currently considering South-Florida based candidates only for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Search Execution
- Lead the full lifecycle of retained executive search engagements, including client intake, role scoping, candidate sourcing, assessment, and offer negotiation
- Deliver a high-touch, consultative experience to both clients and candidates
- Execute searches across Director through C-Suite roles, with a focus on:
- Go-to-Market / Sales Leadership
- Finance & Accounting
- Human Resources
- Operations and Technology
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and hiring managers, helping define role requirements and ideal candidate profiles
- Build and maintain relationships with clients across a diverse range of industries and company stages, including:
- Early-stage and venture-backed startups
- Private equity-backed portfolio companies
- Mid-market and large enterprise organizations
- Ensure long-term client satisfaction and repeat business
Business Development
- Proactively identify and develop new client relationships and revenue opportunities
- Partner with firm leadership to drive go-to-market strategy and brand positioning
- Contribute meaningfully to firm growth initiatives and revenue expansion
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of internal recruiters and external contract resources
- Oversee project allocation, execution quality, and team performance
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
Operational & Strategic Contributions
- Play a key role in firmwide strategy development and execution
- Support initiatives related to AI technology implementation, CRM optimization, and process improvement
- Contribute to marketing efforts including brand development and content creation
Qualifications:
- 8–12+ years of experience in executive search or retained recruiting, preferably within a boutique or mid-sized firm
- Proven success executing senior-level retained searches (Director to C-Suite)
- Strong business development and client management capabilities
- Experience working across multiple industries and business models
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple concurrent searches
- Highly consultative, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale a practice
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, high-performance environment
- Strong judgment in assessing talent beyond resumes, cultural fit, leadership capability, and growth potential
- Equally effective in execution and strategy
