- Monitor animal areas, facility systems, and life support systems overnight.
- Conduct routine rounds of designated areas and observe for any changes or concerns.
- Recognize and report changes in animal behavior, building systems, and equipment performance.
- Identify patterns or irregularities in the collection, facility, and life support systems.
- Provide accurate status updates at shift change and communicate overnight system changes to managerial and other department staff.
- Take appropriate corrective actions as needed or trained.
- Work independently during overnight hours.
- Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Animal Care.
- Comply with all safety practices, Animal Care policies, practices, and procedures, employee handbook policies, and all applicable governmental and AZA standards.
