Duties

  • Senior administrative support specialist collaborating with budget, manpower, administrative, and Human Resources (HR) staff to ensure accurate and efficient processing, monitoring, reporting, and reconciliation of various actions.
  • Initiates and monitors the status of personnel actions; coordinates reorganization/realignment packages, ensuring DFAS Agencies Initiative (DAI), resource management and technical work is completed prior to submission of personnel actions to HR.
  • Manages local recruiting, establishing and maintaining working relationships with secondary schools and employment organizations; researches and executes recruiting events, ensuring appropriate organization representation.
  • Conducts studies/prepares reports on administrative and HR services as directed by the Site Director; prepares/delivers presentations such as briefings, training sessions, consultations and strategy sessions with staff service functions/activities.
  • Serves as a senior Department of War Performance Management and Appraisal Program (DPMAP) facilitator; answers, directs, and/or resolves inquiries and administrative problems brought to the Site Support directorate.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Providing in-depth administrative analysis and support, including independently evaluating program effectiveness, resolving complex operational issues, and providing data-driven recommendations to management; performing human resources functions, such as performance management, staffing and business line reorganizations, and recruitment and placement actions.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.

  • To verify you meet the time-in-grade requirement, please provide a copy of a recent SF-50 that shows you have completed at least 52 weeks at the next lower grade level.
