Job Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and certification of hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuation systems. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD experience and a background in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and improve new and existing actuation products.
- Create 3D models and engineering drawings using CATIA V5/V6 or SolidWorks.
- Support product development, testing, analysis, and certification activities.
- Work with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support production and product engineering teams with design changes and technical solutions.
- Coordinate engineering assignments and provide technical updates.
- Develop practical design solutions for complex engineering challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
- Experience with mechanical design, modeling, and drafting.
- Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with hydraulic actuators, valves, pumps, reservoirs, accumulators, or hydraulic power packs.
- Experience with electro-mechanical actuators, motors, ball screws, roller screws, gears, splines, or planetary gear sets.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, tolerances, finishes, and certification requirements.
- Experience with vibration testing, qualification testing, thermal considerations, or MMPDS material properties.
- Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, MathCAD, or KISSsoft.
- Aerospace or defense product development experience.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
Work on challenging aerospace actuation systems and collaborate with experienced engineering and manufacturing teams on new product development and sustaining programs.
