M365 Dynamics Project Lead / Senior Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Consultant

About the Job

DataSoft Technologies is seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Power Platform technical lead.

This is a senior-level, hands-on technical position supporting a Microsoft Government cloud environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience across Dynamics 365 CE/CRM, Microsoft Dataverse, Power Platform, ALM, custom development, enterprise security, and state-government environments.

Position Details

  • Contract: 12 months, with possibility of extension
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Work arrangement: Hybrid — 4 days remote / 1 day onsite per week
  • Onsite location: 400 Otarre Parkway, Cayce, SC 29033
  • Projected start date: November 18, 2026
  • Interview process: One virtual interview
  • Candidate location: Candidate must currently reside in South Carolina. Relocation candidates will not be considered.

The official SOW identifies the SCDPH campus at 400 Otarre Parkway in Cayce as the primary work location.

Position Overview

This consultant will provide senior-level technical leadership across the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform ecosystem, helping design, develop, secure, deploy, govern, and support enterprise applications and integrations.

The role requires someone capable of working across both solution architecture and hands-on implementation, including application development, Dataverse architecture, security administration, integration engineering, ALM/release management, governance, documentation, and technical project leadership.

The SOW specifically identifies Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Zero Trust principles, role-based access controls, secure configuration baselines, and government-cloud security requirements as core components of the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, configure, enhance, and deploy Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions.
  • Build and maintain:
  • Model-driven applications
  • Canvas applications
  • Dataverse tables
  • Business process flows
  • Forms and views
  • Business rules
  • Automated workflows
  • Design and maintain enterprise Dataverse schemas and relational data models.
  • Administer Dynamics 365 and Power Platform environments, including environment configuration, solution inventories, capacity, and platform settings.
  • Manage security roles, field-level security, permissions, access controls, and least-privilege models.
  • Develop and support custom Dynamics extensibility using:
  • C#/.NET
  • Dynamics plugins
  • Custom workflow assemblies
  • JavaScript
  • TypeScript
  • Design and support application integrations, connectors, APIs, environment variables, and connection references.
  • Manage Application Lifecycle Management practices using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub pipelines.
  • Deploy managed solutions and custom-developed components through established release processes.
  • Support Power Platform governance, environment management, DLP policies, permissions, and platform security.
  • Assist with Power BI reporting and enterprise data integration.
  • Monitor system performance, utilization, capacity, licensing, and platform health.
  • Perform environment cleanup, component archiving, and governance reviews.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including:
  • Solution architecture
  • Dataverse schemas
  • ERDs
  • Integration designs
  • Workflow documentation
  • Technical configuration documentation
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, SMEs, and the M365 Solutions Manager during solution design, development, testing, and implementation.
  • Identify modernization opportunities that improve workflow efficiency, application security, data quality, and system integration.
  • Manage and communicate project milestones, risks, dependencies, and technical progress.
  • Support policies and technical controls aligned with government cybersecurity requirements including NIST 800-53, FISMA, HIPAA, CJIS, and South Carolina information-security standards.

The SOW confirms the position includes solution deployment, security administration, Dataverse modeling, Power BI support, integrations, ALM, governance, technical documentation, and milestone management.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • 6+ years of State Government experience
  • 10+ years of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE/CRM experience, including:
  • Solution architecture
  • Customization
  • Administration
  • 10+ years of Microsoft Dataverse experience, including:
  • Relational data modeling
  • Custom business logic
  • Security-role architecture
  • 10+ years of Microsoft Power Platform enterprise experience
  • 10+ years of Application Lifecycle Management experience, including:
  • Azure DevOps and/or GitHub pipelines
  • Managed solution deployments
  • Release-management processes
  • 10+ years of custom Dynamics development/extensibility experience, including:
  • C#/.NET
  • Plugins
  • Custom workflow assemblies
  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • 10+ years of cloud security/data-classification experience involving standards or regulated environments such as:
  • HIPAA
  • CJIS
  • CDC-related security requirements
  • NIST 800-53
  • Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture, governance, security, and integration.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business users, leadership, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while managing competing priorities.

  • Microsoft PL-400
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
  • Dynamics 365 Solution Architect certification

The SOW lists Power Pages and Power BI/Synapse integration as preferred skills and PL-600/PL-400 and Solution Architect credentials as preferred certifications.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience
