Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the software development and integration team for the ATSSI II program. In this role, you will integrate existing test programs into a new development environment, working with engineering teams to migrate legacy systems and troubleshoot software-related issues. The primary focus is on software development and integration using LabVIEW and object-oriented programming languages, with hands-on lab work testing equipment and Units Under Test (UUT).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Test Program Sets (TPS) using a .NET 9.0 test framework and API.
- Migrate legacy test programs to the modern framework architecture.
- Implement test methods in C# that perform measurements such as voltage, current, resistance, and digital patterns.
- Create and maintain JSON configuration files.
- Interpret Test Requirements Documents (TRDs) and Technical Orders (TOs) to implement test procedures.
- Use framework APIs to control test instruments, including Digital Multimeters, DAQ systems, and Matrix switches.
- Implement test evaluation logic using numeric limit testing and pattern matching.
- Verify test program functionality against equipment specifications and requirements.
- Collaborate with systems engineers regarding integration efforts and software development progress.
- Document software designs, integration procedures, and test results.
Experience: 5 or more years of professional software development experience in testing, automation, or related roles is required. Software or hardware integration experience is also necessary.
Technical Skills: Proficient experience with LabVIEW programming is required, along with professional experience with C# or C++. The ability to read and debug schematics is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with National Instruments products such as TestStand, CVI, or PXI systems.
- Knowledge of JSON, .NET, Python, ANSI-C, or other scripting languages.
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment like digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and signal generators.
- Experience with Test Program Set (TPS) or Automated Test Equipment (ATE) development for aerospace or defense applications.
- Experience migrating legacy test systems to modern platforms.
- Knowledge of aviation maintenance organizational structure.
- Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN) and software development lifecycle practices.
- Basic electrical engineering knowledge, including circuit design and signal analysis.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or CMMI quality process standards.
