Data Systems Engineer - R&D Test Systems

Location: Marietta, Ohio

Pay: $41.15/hour

Duration: 12-month contract

Relocation: Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates

KYO Group is seeking a Data Systems Engineer to support Thermo Fisher Scientific's R&D Technology Center in Marietta, Ohio.

This is a hands-on engineering technology position focused on laboratory software, automated test systems, data acquisition, instrumentation, databases, and engineering applications.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain automated laboratory test and data-acquisition systems

- Write and maintain software and test scripts used to control engineering equipment

- Integrate sensors, instrumentation, PLCs, DAQ hardware, and laboratory systems

- Support thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow sensors, power-measurement devices, and other instrumentation

- Develop and maintain databases used to store engineering test data

- Build efficient workflows for collecting, transferring, storing, and analyzing laboratory data

- Troubleshoot hardware, software, communications, instrumentation, and data-quality issues

- Maintain data integrity, backup, availability, and redundancy

- Support software installation, configuration, licensing, and troubleshooting

- Serve as a technical resource for engineering applications such as SolidWorks

- Automate repetitive engineering and laboratory processes

- Maintain technical documentation for systems, interfaces, configurations, and applications

- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, IT teams, and equipment vendors

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar field preferred

- Associate degree with significant relevant experience may also be considered

- 3+ years of experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, or test systems

- Software-development or scripting experience

- Database and SQL experience

- Experience troubleshooting technical systems

- Ability to interface software with physical hardware or instrumentation

Military experience in data systems, electronics, test equipment, automation, instrumentation, or engineering technology is encouraged.
